Streamers and VIP

Two perks look alike from the outside and are not the same thing. Knowing which is which explains most of the rules below.

VIP is the paid supporter tier

A VIP is someone who supported Kacky on Ko-fi. VIP gives the VIP themes, unlimited nickname changes, a badge in chat, and a place on the server guest list. Nothing in the streamer program grants or removes VIP. A streamer who also pays for VIP keeps it when the streamer grant ends.

A streamer grant is approved, and it lapses

A streamer applies in Discord with their Twitch channel. The channel must be Twitch Affiliate or Partner. That is the only automatic gate. A member of the streamer staff then reads the application. It shows the Kacky rank and finishes of the applicant in the configured events. It also shows their playtime, the events they took part in, and whether they are live now. Those numbers inform the decision. They do not make it.

An approved grant lasts twelve months. The reviewer can set a different date within a limit, and must say why. A streamer can apply again before the grant ends. When a grant ends, the streamer loses the perks until a new application is approved. The grants that existed before the program started share one announced deadline instead of twelve months from an approval date.

Staff can revoke a grant at any time. The revocation records who did it and why.

Live status is measured, not declared

Kacky asks Twitch which grant holders are live in the Trackmania category. A streamer cannot switch their live status on or off, and cannot forget to switch it off. The in-game widget and the website read that measurement.

The measurement has an age. When it is fresh, an empty list means nobody is live. When it is stale, or when Twitch cannot be reached, the widget shows that the status is unknown. It never shows "offline" for a streamer it could not reach.

One channel, one grant

A Twitch channel can be held by one streamer grant at a time. A second player who names the same channel can apply, but staff cannot approve them while the first grant is active. When the first grant expires, the channel becomes free again, including for the same person renewing.

The guest list

Servers keep a guest list of players who skip the queue when the server is full. Kacky builds that list from everyone who holds an unexpired streamer grant or an unexpired VIP. A player who holds both is on the list once.
